1. It gives me immense pleasure in introducing to you
Kendriya Vidyalaya (Embassy of India School) Tehran, one
of the most successful institutions of India. This
branch of KVS was added in Tehran in 2004.And since then
it has been imparting quality education to the Indian
and foreign students from Kindergarten (KG) to Class
XII.
2. Kendriya Vidyalayas are affiliated to the Central
Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, India, which
is a premier Examination Board of India and recognized
in India and abroad. The Pass Certificate of AISSE (X)
and AISSCE (XII) are equivalent to ‘O’ and ‘A’ level
respectively. Kendriya Vidyalayas are a chain of school
under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), an autonomous
body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development,
Government of India. The Organization administers 981
Schools in India and abroad.
3. Kerndriya Vidyalayas have the Mission to pursue
excellence and set the pace in the field of school
education and to initiate and promote experimentations
and innovations in education in collaboration with the
other bodies like Central Board of Secondary Education,
National Council of Educational Research and Training
etc.
4. Kendriya Vidyalayas are co-educational composite
schools and follow English as medium of instruction in
all classes. Students are assessed through continuous
comprehensive evaluation (CCE) throughout the year.
Three tests, half-yearly examination and annual
examination carry a weightage of 15%, 25% & 50%
respectively. Assignments and projects carry 5% each.
5. Kendriya Vidyalayas offer Science, Humanities and
Commerce streams at higher secondary (XI and XII
classes) level as a prelude to basic degrees in Science,
Commerce, Humanities and Management as well as
professional courses in Engineering & Medicine etc.
6. According to a brand equity survey held recently in
India for educational services, Kendriya Vidyalayas led
the pack ahead of prestigious institutes such as Indian
Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of

7. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tehran came into existence in
June 2004 under the patronage of Embassy of India in
Tehran. The Ambassador of India is the chairman of the
school. The school is housed in the infrastructure of
the erstwhile Indian Senior Secondary School
The academic year is from 1st April to
31st March. The School has well qualified
trained and experienced staff members posted from India.
In addition to the mainstream subjects like English,
Mathematics, Physical and Social Sciences, a student has
a choice to opt any one of the languages from French,
Hindi, Persian and Punjabi. Non- scholastic subjects
like sports and games, art and craft, music and dance
are also given importance.
8. Kendriya Vidyalaya Tehran offers Science and Commerce
streams at higher secondary level with English as a
compulsory subject. Well equipped and spacious Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and Computer laboratories provide an
opportunity to the students to put theory into practice
and experimentation.
